Our Story

It seems every new, small, tallow based skincare business has a back story. We are no exception.

It all started with a deep dive into label reading, and this has been going on for a good many years.

I have a daughter with crazy environmental allergies, including textile dyes. The results of some of these allergies has been some really intense eczema, and some underlying challenging acne

My son, who has very high functioning Autism, and ADHD, refused medication from a very early age. My goal was to support him through diet, and anything else I could potentially have control of.

So began the journey of reading labels, cutting sugar, and eating whole foods, and focusing on protein and fats.

At some point, my daughter could not get any relief from her eczema, and she randomly tried a tallow based product. She saw a significant improvement, in a short amount of time, something that wasn’t happening with the creams and steroids she had been prescribed. I would have never believed it, had I not witnessed the improvement myself.

Then I tried the tallow product. I am a simple soap and water girl, but wow, I loved the tallow cream. So, I tried a bunch, and I mean a bunch, of different brands, with different ingredients. I enjoyed most all of them, and had noticeable results for my aging skin.

I started getting random compliments on my skin! I was taken aback, to say the least, I just turned 62 and I love the sun, and live for the outdoors, and have never been serious about skincare.

I was raised on a large cattle ranch in Nevada, and my greatest passion, besides my children, are my horses, and the people in my circle, because of my horses.

I am passionate about showing reined cow horses. I currently have three horses, Whiskey, Ivy, and my gem of a broodmare, Lucy.

At what point I came up with venturing into the tallow making business, I don’t know. I had tried enough different products, that I knew what I liked in a product, really all products are so much the same, but also very different. So I got busy researching, sourcing ingredients, and crafting my versions of tallow skincare.

I am grateful to have my children in the background, and supporting me in so many ways. Their technical wisdom is saving me, and it is all the more meaningful to have them involved.

My son is in charge of website development, my daughter, design creativity, and critique!

Me? Well I am the chief at everything tallow!
